For twenty-seven years, Riley Hopkins has been forced to give everything to his sick twin brother, Evan—even his fiancée. Everyone believes Evan is the one destined to die young. So when Riley is diagnosed with a terminal illness, no one believes him. His family calls him a liar, and the woman he loves chooses Evan instead. Riley stops fighting and returns to the lab to finish one final research project. Days later, during Evan’s engagement party, an official notice arrives: Riley Hopkins. Death confirmed. Only then does his family realize they spent years protecting the wrong son.
